I Need an MCJiang Wen's latest movie The Sun Also Rises consists of 4 shorts which make up the entire movie, told in a fragmented narrative. I thought that its individual parts were stronger than all of them put together, and felt that it was a fantastical piece that transcended space and time when you try to piece it together when they come full circle.
Strengths in this film are the scenery, which needed 3 cinematographers to capture the beautifully rich and lush visuals, its score, and the veteran actors in Jiang Wen himself, Anthony Wong and Joan Chen, while Jaycee Chan surprisingly held his own against the three, portraying with much earnestness his role as a village boy.
