881 Website Online

Finally, the latest film by Royston Tan has its website done up, and includes a pretty long synopsis, a list of crew credits, and a press section which has a set of production notes in Microsoft Word format, a high resoluton poster, and 70(!) high resolution stills! Other sections like Festivals and Reviews are still under construction of course.

I've bought my Charity Gala ticket already. Have you? :-)

881 is arguably Singapore's first feature length musical, and takes place during the Hungry Ghost Festival in the Lunar Seventh Month, the same premise as Kelvin Tong's The Maid, with a primary focus on the festivities with "getai" (song-stage) performers who entertain the crowds, and of course, "friends" from the spiritual realm too. Expect neighborhood and heartland glitz, glamour, sweat and tears as we follow the careers of the Papaya Sisters (Mindee Ong and Yeo Yann Yann).

More details of course at Royston's blog, and they're running a contest too to win autographed 881 posters. Check it out, and participate as well, if you're a big Royston fan!
