2006 has been a strange year, full of ups and its fair share of downs. While there are many, many highlights which I should be grateful for - such as forging new friendships which I now hold dear and probably the most number of times I got my ass out of the country in a single year, the downs have gotten to me a lot as well, just that I've been expertly able to hide it deep inside.
So for the new year, I only have one resolution, and somehow I chanced upon this old song by Chicane (yeah, after a conversation with Richard yesterday), and I thought it was apt that it describes what I feel now, and to constantly remind myself, don't give up, especially when the going sucks. I won't know what the new year will hold for me, and every crossroad encountered will be a leap of faith. Only hope to make the right decisions when the time comes, and never live to regret it.
Chicane featuring Bryan Adams - Don't Give Up
Don't give it up
Don't worry if the sun don't shine
You've seen it before, you don't need to worry
Every day's an uphill climb, nothing has changed
Believe me when I tell ya
Don't give it up
Don't give it up
Don't give up, you know it's true
Gotta do what you wanna do
Don't give it up, you don't have to
Gotta do what you wanna do
Oh yeah
Don't give it up, you know it's true
Gotta do what you wanna do
Don't worry if the sun don't shine
You've seen it before, you don't need to worry
Every day's an uphill climb, nothing has changed
Believe me when I tell ya
Don't give it up
Don't give up, you know it's true
Gotta do what you wanna do
Don't give it up, you don't have to
Gotta do what you wanna do
Oh yeah
Don't give it up, you know it's true
Gotta do what you wanna do
