Anime Fans Listen Up!

With the successful same-day-as-Japan's-release of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - Awakening of the Trailblazer in September, Sinema will be following that up with a screening of a series of popular Japanese anime films from 15 November, and fans of Gundam will probably rejoice with the releases such as Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam I – A New Translation “Heirs to the Stars”, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam II – A New Translation “Lovers”, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam III – A New Translation “Love is the Pulse of the Stars”, and a second run of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 – Awakening of the Trailblazer screenings.

For those who are not Gundam nuts, or like me, can't tell Mobile Suit Gundam and Gundam X apart, fret not, as there are two other non-Gundam anime for us to feast our eyes on.

The first being King of Thorn, which I had the opportunity to watch last year (my review here). For the uninitiated, here's a synopsis:
Medusa Virus, a sickness that turns it’s victims into stone, begins to ravage the people of Earth. In a desperate attempt to save humanity’s, a selected group was chosen for the only known cure: cryogenic sleep for many years into the future.

The group wake-up to a nightmare: freakish creatures are destroying the cryo facility that house the chosen survivors. Without knowing what these creatures are and why they are being attacked. The last remnants of civilization must band together and fight these monsters in order to survive.

They must escape the Cryogenics facility to discover what happened to the Earth during their slumber.

The other, which I intend to watch, will be The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

It is mid-december, and SOS Brigade chief Haruhi Suzumiya announces that the Brigade is going to hold a Christmas party in their clubroom, with Japanese hotpot for dinner. The brigade members Kyon, Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina and Itsuki Koizumi start preparing everything for the party, such as costumes and decorations.

But a couple of days later, Kyon arrives at school only to find that Haruhi is missing. Not only that, Mikuru claims she has never known Kyon. Koizumi is also missing and Yuki has become the sole member of the literature club.

The SOS Brigade have never existed, nor has Haruhi Suzumiya. No one in the school has ever heard about her… except for Kyon.

which sounds like a trippy mindf*ck.
