The Almost Weekly Wednesday Midnight Bulletin #3

The build up to next week's exciting multiple movie releases starts now, and you have almost 6 movies to choose from, ranging from wicked gore to the remake of Infernal Affairs.

Flick of the Week
Severance gets my vote for flick of the week. It's a slasher kind of thriller that is just wickedly funny - you can't decide whether to laugh or cry at the characters' predicament.

BLOCKBUSTER
Martin Scorsese has been garnering critical praise for his remade version of Hong Kong's Infernal Affairs - The Departed. With a stellar ensemble cast consisting of now frequent collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio (Aviator, Gangs of New York), Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen and Alec Baldwin, can anyone not detect the amount of testosterone on screen?

Acquired Tastes
Two recommendations, from the horror genre we've got the mandarin movie Silk, and for those who can't get enough of Will Farrell and his need for speed, check out Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby for some shake and bake humour on the NASCAR circuit.

If you've still got extra time and have yet to visit GV Vivocity, then you might want to check out the cinema's exclusive screenings of Hustle and Flow, which won this year's Oscar for Best Song, and American Dreamz. Coincidentally, both movies are already available on DVD.
